ADE on the lookout for Cultural Collaborations

Wednesday, 10 July 2019
We're calling on artists and organisations to submit their creative ideas to participate in ADE's daytime program.

Electronic music and art, whether it’s film, photography or design, are inseparably bound together. And although the Festival by Night is the beating heart of the Amsterdam Dance Event, the daytime sees some of the most magical cross-pollinations between club and culture come to fruition.

Dance culture has always been a brilliant crucible for the wider arts: a place for a meeting of minds, late night inspiration and venues that support unusual creative projects. And art, in turn, raises awareness, opens minds and spreads complex and important messages.

ADE aims to embrace the diversity of the dance music community and the inspiration it sparks in other fields. We intend to share new perspectives on the culture and the impact of music on art and society to our global audience.

We invite artists, makers, and creatives as well as (cultural) venues, art spaces and others interested in programming and presenting dance culture, to submit ideas on participating in this year’s ADE. We are specifically, but not exclusively, interested in projects, artworks, and initiatives that relate to the inclusive nature of dance culture.

If you're interested in participating, don't hold back. We look forward to receiving your creative input with the subject title “Call for participation 2019” at festival@amsterdam-dance-event.nl before August 10th.

ADE offers an extensive daytime program of dance music-related exhibitions, film screenings and documentaries, as well as artist showcases, gear master classes and public Q&A’s across Amsterdam with events ranging from art exhibitions, a collaboration with the Dutch National Opera to Jeff Mills composing at the Rembrandt House, and from pop-up record stores and vinyl markets to sonic experiences at the Vondel Church.
